This Is Why I Pay for Foxtel

So the ad came on the other day, the biggest event in Sci Fi channel history. So I started to pay attention. The event? - the first 12 eps of Battlestar Galactica in a mini-marathon followed by a direct from the US (well, only a few hours delay) of the first ep of the second half of the final season!!! And I can't watch it, I have to go to a BBQ!!! But at least they are doing it. They haven't played Season 3 yet, but they know their audience and realise most people who are interested in the show probably already have it on DVD. So they are going to give us almost immediate viewing of the last half of the final season. No six months of having to avoid spoilers or waiting for the DVD to come out. Yes, I pay for Foxtel, but better than trying to deal with Channel 10 who can't have the show on the same time and day more than two weeks in a row and then just stop showing it altogether. Or who decide to put Season 2 on a week before the DVD comes out!! Who then put it on HD so most people won't even have the chance to watch it!!

Trustees

You know how in the movies people get contacted out of the blue because they might have some money coming from a long lost relative? Well, it just happened to me! I've just been emailed via the Ancestry.com.au website by someone looking for relatives of someone who died intestate. Surreal.

Snake

I went down to the shopping centre at lunch to see if I could find a top for my swimmers (which I did!). They had a reptile display set up for the school holidays. So I got to pat a snake. It was sooo cute. Little python.

I got some more silk, so if the weather is cooler this weekend (it was 43 yesterday), I will see if I can get the banner device finished off.

1911 UK Census Now Online

It isn't supposed to go live until tomorrow but it is working now. And they have the original schedules as filled out by our ancestors. You can buy either a transcript or the original page. I recommend both. I found one page where alot of extra info that had been crossed out was not included in the transcript and this included a listing of three extra children that I didn't previously know about. Research gold!!

Belated New Year

Happy New Year everyone! I know I'm a bit late but I was having a very slothful holiday. I am now back.

I am really dumb. I've had the chance to be off my P's for the last two weeks and didn't even notice! And I've been driving around without a valid licence as it had run out!! So I went down at lunch and renewed it while booking the test to move to my full licence for Thursday.
