A bookshop owner can't get rid of excess books, so he is burning them in protest. If you are in this city, rescue some books!

This is unbelievably - as a German my heart rips apart when I hear people burning books for ... fun. How can one even think of it?!

I don't think the owner did it for fun, but to make the point that the average American is so disinterested in reading that he can't even give books away - which is equally as sad.
