No sewing the last couple of days. I've been working around the house, did a heap of grunt work on the side path and out the back. Looks alot better now. Gets overgrown so easily.

Sewing, Space and New Blog

Firstly, if you are interested in historical clothing, I have a new blog to recommend, check out: The Sweat Shop. It is run by a really nice person who makes the most wonderful mid-period German clothes.

I now have more space in my house due to the ex coming over yesterday to pick up the various bits of furniture that were his. I now have to decide what to do with the space. What I really want to do with that room is pull up the butt-ugly carpet and polish the floor boards. I pretty much know how to do it, since we did the lounge room. But getting the sander will be a bugger. Might have to have a chat with Dad. I also want to paint the room, it is this horrible neutral grey colour. When it was ex's room, I wanted to paint it a lovely deep plum and do gold runes around the top, but he would never let me. Know I'm glad, cause that would be a bugger of a colour to overpaint. I want to do the room white, so that there is plenty of light, so I can have Stitch'n'Bitch sessions in there. Painting I can do, since I've done all the other painting in the house. It's a small room, I can do two full coats in a weekend. Most time spent waiting for drying. I wont to keep furniture to minimum, but I would like to get a couple of books cases in somewhere, not they are no longer banned.

I also got another pouch onto frame last night. The first one is done, just needs to be made up. Got the second one started. I will make both of them up at the same time, saves dragging the machine out.

No Sewing

Firstly, thanks to everyone who said hello after yesterdays post. It's much appreciated. And while I haven't been posting, I have been reading all the blogs in my blogroll pretty regularly.

Secondly, no sewing last night, it was too hot and I was in a pretty crappy mood, so basically I just sat in the dark, had a bit of a cry and watched TV. But it is a bit cooler today, so I hope to get some sewing done when I get home, after I've washed the floor.

I'm Back

OK, I'm back.

I stopped posting because a couple of weeks before Christmas, my partner of 10 years walked out on me. So my life for the last month has been total chaos. I am trying to work out of if will be able to keep the house (buy out his half), so meetings with bank managers and lawyers are in my future. Also doing lots of excel spreadsheets for the finances.

On top of that, I have started a new job, where I have no idea what I am doing. I am waking up at 5am every morning cause I am so nervous about going to work. It would've been stressful enough just this, but with the break up on top of that, it's all been pretty horrible.

Part of the problem is I really don't have anyone to talk to. I don't make friends easily, I'm really bad at just going up to people and being social, so there really isn't much of a social support network there. I don't have much family locally and I hate talking on the phone. So to get it out of my system there might be a bit more personal venting than usual on the blog.

So I am going to try and start posting again, but it might not be as regularly as it used to be (partly depends if I can afford internet connection at home or not!).

On a sewing note, I am making another 13th C pouch for a friend. I won't post anything until I give it to him. But you know roughly what it looks like.
